Prior to starting her own law practice, Hoffman served for twelve years as Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs for Harmony Gold, one of the largest independent foreign sales companies in Los Angeles at the time. There she managed all aspects of the business, financial and legal affairs for the company. Hoffman has structured and negotiated major international television, film and merchandising deals and supervised production on numerous films and dramatic projects.
Her current practice focuses on entertainment-related transactions, with a client roster including Academy Award winning producers, independent distributors, sales-agents, first time filmmakers, authors, screenwriters and talent.
Hoffman has represented clients at numerous international markets and festivals including MIPCOM, MIP TV, the American Film Market, Sundance, the Los Angeles Film Festival and AFI.
In addition, Hoffman is a member of the Independent Film and Television Association’s Legal Committee and the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section. She is also an advisory board member of STARHOUSE, a non-profit organization established to provide long-term, transitional shelter to women who suffer from domestic violence, drug abuse and AIDS; and Meaningful Media, a non-profit organization offering support to filmmakers committed to social change.
Her production credits include: Manic (2001); Dirt (2001); Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles (2006); Heart of Fear (2006); Big River Man (2008); and Beyond a Reasonable Doubt (2009).
Hoffman received her undergraduate degree from UCLA and her J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law.
